Cinnamon-Apple Cookies for your dolls!

Cinnamon-Apple Cookies:
This project is actually something I have been doing for years as a teacher and at home with my girls.  We usually make them into ornaments to give as gifts and to hang on our own tree.  This year we had some extra lying around, so I decided to have the girls try them out with their dolls.  They worked out great for our cookie party to celebrate the doll kitchen being completed! Our Doll Cookie Party
**Although these are made of edible items, I do not recommend actually eating them as they do not taste particularly good and become very hard after drying.***

Items Needed:
3 jars of Applesauce--depending on the amount of cookies you want to make, you may need more or less applesauce.  This batch made about 2 dozen.
Jars of Cinnamon-I did not give a specific amount because this is an add as needed type of ingredient.  I normally start with one large container and add from there to make the dough firm.
Cookie Cutters
Mixing bowl
Mixing spoons
Baking sheet or a piece of cardboard to place cookies on to dry
Wax paper
Rolling pin

Getting to Work:
Step 1:  Pour jars of applesauce into mixing bowl.
Step 2:  Add one whole large jar of cinnamon to applesauce and mix together.  The applesauce and cinnamon will begin to form a dough.  Add more cinnamon as needed to make the dough firm.  **Special Tip:  It can be helpful to take a few smaller pieces of dough out of the bowl and place onto wax paper and knead cinnamon into it.  The place these pieces back into the bowl with the remaining dough mixture.  This helps the dough become firmer faster.***
Step 4:  Continue mixing/kneading the dough with your hands until the dough it about the same consistency of store bought (ready to bake) cookie dough.
Step 5:  Roll pieces of doll out using rolling pin onto wax paper.  Sprinkle a little more cinnamon on the dough to keep it from sticking (same as you would do with flour when baking.)
Step 6:  Use small cookie cutters to cut out different shaped cookies.
Step 7:  Allow cookies to dry on wax paper for a minimum of 24 hours.  You can also bake these at a low temperature to have them dry faster.  I have made these both ways so use which ever is your preference.
Step 8:  Once completely dry, add them to your doll food collection!
**Special Bonus:  They smell great and the cinnamon smell last can last for years!***

    1. Yes. Keep them in a container when not playing with them to help keep their cinnamon smell.
